In Red Wings Land
Who will Red Wings protect, lose in 2021 expansion draft? | MLive
At forward, the Red Wings are certain to protect Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha, Tyler Bertuzzi, Filip Zadina and Robby Fabbri. The other two slots could be used for Evgeny Svechnikov and Givani Smith. If they re-sign Luke Glendening, he could be protected or exposed. Or they might acquire someone in a trade or through free agency they would opt to protect.
Sounds right to me.
On defense, they would protect Filip Hronek, Dennis Cholowski and either Danny DeKeyser or someone acquired through trade or free agency. Moritz Seider and Gustav Lindstrom are exempt.
This makes sense too. It doesn’t seem like it’ll be that stressful of an expansion draft for Steve Yzerman and the Wings. They probably won’t be saying goodbye to anyone that us fans will really miss.
Speaking of goodbyes...
Winging it out of Motown
This is my last post here at Winging It In Motown. I’m officially announcing my retirement.
I would like to say thank you to Casey, J.J. and Graham for letting me join their family about a decade ago. Thanks to them, I now have numerous life long friendships that extend beyond the keyboard and internet. From H2H2 to the Big House Winter Classic to the last game at the Joe, I’m grateful to have shared so many amazing real life Red Wings experiences with some awesome people.
Thumbs up to everyone. I’ll miss you all. And never forget...
Hope will never be a strategy.
