Quick Hits: The NHL Season Continues (For Now) Edition

Around the League

The NBA has suspended their season due to COVID-19, but the NHL is moving forward with their scheduled games at the moment. We’ll see what the league says in their next update later today.

In Red Wings Land

Notes: Gagner to miss Thursday’s game against Capitals | DetroitRedWings.com

There aren’t many games left (if any) in the Red Wings season, but it would be a bummer if Sam Gagner was out for whatever is left. He’s auditioning for a possible contract and giving Steve Yzerman & co. a chance to see how well he fits in with this roster.

The real bummer, however, is that Filip Zadina still isn’t back yet.

“Zadina is out through the weekend. He will not travel,” Blashill said. “He’ll stay off the ice today and we’ll see. He’ll go through physical therapy. If he can go on the ice tomorrow, he’ll go on the ice tomorrow and we’ll go from there.”

What Zadina is currently dealing with is a mid-body injury not related to his broken ankle.

I still want to see him play again before the season is over (if the season isn’t suspended).
