Notes: Team White defeats Team Red in shootout in Red and White Game | DetroitRedWings.com
Goals in regulation were scored by Andreas Athanasiou and Oliwer Kaski. Frans Nielsen and Anthony Mantha scored to gave Team White the win in the shootout.
DID NOT PLAY: Among those who did not play in the Red and White Game were forwards Dylan Larkin and Darren Helm, plus defenseman Mike Green.
”I think we have a whole bunch of guys that have little tweaks and whatnot, the normal stuff that comes with going 100 miles an hour into training camp so we’ll have to just adjust our practices accordingly,” Blashill said.
We’ll see if these “little tweaks” linger or not for the next few weeks. Apparently, Athanasiou left after the first period of the scrimmage yesterday with a tweak of his own too.
Inside job could earn Filip Zadina roster spot with Red Wings | MLive
Zadina crashed the net on one sequence during Sunday’s Red/White game at training camp. He didn’t convert, but it’s all about building habits.
“I saw the puck, so I wanted to go to the net and create some chances,” Zadina said after the scrimmage at Centre I.C.E. “Probably it’s going to be my game, go more to the net and I’ll be more productive in front of the net.
The evolution of Filip Zadina is going to be one of my favorite parts of this Red Wings season.
