Quick Hits: The Third Pair Edition

In Red Wings Land

Jonathan Ericsson facing battle to remain in Red Wings’ lineup | MLive

Ericsson was a healthy scratch for back-to-back games on a couple of occasions, for the first time in his career. He’ll likely start the season alongside Trevor Daley as the third pairing (depending on the unit’s health), but unlike past seasons, Ericsson won’t have a guaranteed spot in the lineup. It’ll depend on his performance.

Jonathan Ericsson on the Red Wings’ third pair with Daley? Meh. I want to see Dennis Cholowski, Madison Bowey and/or Oliwer Kaski. Give me some duo of younger players.

It sure feels like it’s time for Green to enter the gun-for-hire phase of his career. Teams sniffed around him at the 2018 trade deadline, but an injury stopped him from getting moved.

We just need him to stay healthy and be productive enough to get a first round pick!
