Keys to the Game
Get the Lead Early
Neither team is super duper awesome on offense so if someone can take an early lead that would be a huge boost. For Detroit this is especially true if they can get someone other than Dylan Larkin or Andreas Athanasiou to score it. Say, maybe a young player in his first or second NHL game? Hey, if it can happen to the Red Wings all the time why can’t it happen for them at least once?
Hold on to the Lead Late
Goals and leads (especially more than one goal leads) are a premium when they teams get together. That likely means this one is going to come down right to the end and the Red Wings have not been super proficient in holding leads lately. Hopefully there are in position to hold one today and can figure out how to do so.
Have Fun
Neither team is going anywhere this season so anything they can do find some fun on the ice will definitely make these easier for the team going into the offseason.
