Dreger on Detroit/Stamkos... Again
Dreger Dishes on Dollars
Just a quick mid-day piece, as Darren Dreger was heard on AM1050 talking Red Wings, and mentioned just how much he thinks the Wings are willing to spend on one Steven Stamkos...
Dreger/Stamkos: I know that if July 1 were tomorrow, Detroit #RedWings would happily put down a seven-year offer at $10 million per. 1050

Hooo boy. It's not that we didn't know that Stammer will command mega-bucks, but I don't know that I imagined Detroit ponying up $10m+ a year for him. It would certainly be the biggest effort the team has made since the Suter/Parise sweepstakes, and would truly signify that Detroit is finally trying to reconfigure and re-load on the fly in a major way.
Obviously a move like this would have some serious Cap implications, but we can only guess at this time that the organization already has something in the works.
So, what do you think, do YOU want the Red Wings to throw that kind of money and term at Stammer?
