Dreger: Top Finnish defenseman Oliwer Kaski to sign with Red Wings
After days of speculation, it appears that the Red Wings are set to add a top free agent to their defensive cupboard. Darren Dreger Tweeted out early Monday that Oliwer Kaski will sign with Detroit after the World Championship:

The 23-year-old Rearguard achieved a major milestone this season, he was Liiga’s top-scoring defenseman. He posted an impressive stat-line of 51 points (19-32—51) in 59 games with the Pelicans. Here’s what Dobber Prospects has to say about Kaski’s game:
Offensive defenseman with great size. Loves to join the rush and create offense. Has a great shot and likes to use it frequently. Needs to work on his defensive game and avoid unnecessary risks.
The Western Michigan University product joins an already crowded blue line, but since he was so highly sought after by NHL teams, there must be some sort of plan to get him NHL minutes.
