The top-five picks weren’t all-too surprising — maybe the 5th pick from Ottawa was a bit of shocker. I don’t think anyone in their right mind had Jake Sanderson going in the top-5 picks.

The Red Wings got themselves another building block on offense in Lucas Raymond. The 18-year-old winger made his pro hockey debut in Sweden at just 16 years old, and has since been look at as a rising star in the hockey world. Here are some clips from our coverage yesterday to get you up to speed:

Red Wings select forward Lucas Raymond with no. 4 pick in 2020 NHL Draft

Red Wings introduce Lucas Raymond

The Red Wings have the first pick of the day at 32nd overall — The Wings will follow that up with two more picks in the 2nd round (45, 54), and then two more in the 3rd round. In all, Steve Yzerman has 9 picks at play today. The Red Wings got their elite talent in the 1st round, and could benefit from potentially moving back in the Draft today to gather more picks. Here are a couple of names we have our eyes on:

  • Marat Khusnutdinov, C, Russia (MHL)
  • John-Jason Peterka, LW, Germany (DEL)
  • Helge Grans, D, Sweden (SHL)
  • Jan Mysak, C, Hamilton (OHL)
  • Noel Gunler, LW, Sweden (SHL)/
