A split on the road against the best team in the regular season isn’t a bad start, what is disappointing is why the Wings lost game two. If the Wings are going to beat Boston, they have to do what they did in game 1, play their skill game, be disciplined, not take mother frking penalties, and not let Boston get them riled up. We’ve been the better team at even strength in both games, so let’s play at even strength. The Wings have to be on the top of game and play a fast, disciplined, skilled game, because Boston is going to try to do exactly what they did in game 2 and that didn’t work out too well for the Wings.

The Wings top two lines have done most of the heavy lifting, but we need the 3rd and 4th lines to be bigger difference makers against a deep Boston team. There’s no room for freeloaders here, and that goes double for the power play. The Wings are a pitiful 0% on the power play so far in the series and have scored only 1 goal in each game. A power play goal or two in game 2 could have meant some momentum, confidence, and possibly win.

Whatever, that’s all behind us now and Detroit has to learn from their mistakes in game 2, remember what they did right in game 1, and put the rest behind them. If we keep our cool, make Boston play OUR game, and stay disciplined and focused, we can win this game. This is your house, boys. Take the victory.
