Hola. Can we all appreciate the terribleness that is Mike Myers’ The Love Guru? Seriously, I can’t think of a more sorry excuse for a movie, but at least it gives us a pretty good preview picture.
Tonight should be fun. Due to the fact that I woke up and for the first time in a long time am suffering from writer’s block this morning afternoon, I’ll be writing in run-on sentences and posting embedded tweets to get this thing over 100 words.
Here’s tonight’s lineup for LA:
Forwards
Dustin Brown | Anze Kopitar | Jeff Carter |
Matt Frattin | Mike Richards | Justin Williams |
Dwight King | Jarret Stoll | Trevor Lewis |
Kyle Clifford | Colin Fraser | Jordan Nolan |
Defense
Jake Muzzin | Drew Doughty |
Willie Mitchell | Slava Voynov |
Robyn Regehr | Alec Martinez |
People crushing Graham’s dream of a Red Wings goal:
Jonathan Quick |
Martin Jones |
Scratches: Linden Vey, Tanner Pearson
Injuries: Matt Greene (Broken Spirit)
Red Wings: have been shutout in back-to back games. Have never been shutout 3 times in a row; face best defensive team in NHL tonight, LA

Daniel Alfredsson hasn’t been on the ice for a week due to inflammation in his lower back, Holland said. No time frame for his return.

Ouch.
The East wild card race is pretty tight you guys. pic.twitter.com/hZ08S31Gb1

Well, that’s a good (bad) sign.
Like the last match-up against the Kings, play a possession game. Carry the puck and put lots of shots on net. The Kings are among one of the league’s lowest scoring teams, yet they’re arguably the best defensive team in the NHL. Tonight is not a night for moral victories and the Eastern Conference is heating up quickly.
GameThread goes up at 6:30, followed by faceoff at 7. Please play nice.
