It’s the very last game of the year and just the third game under Todd McLellan’s tenure as head coach. The Red Wings are set for a semi-later puck drop at home against the Penguins this New Year’s Eve. Coming off of an impressive performance against the Capitals resulting in a 4-1, the Wings are drawing a tough opponent to wrap up 2024.
T-Mac, as I am going to call him, continues to tinker with his roster and learn more about what he has. It’ll be interesting to see if the team starts taking on a new identity after more practice. Alex Lyon gets the start after a solid performance against the Caps. Joe Veleno will get some more time with top-line players, and Vladimir Tarasenko will see some time at right wing.
