The Red Wings will kick off 2025 on the road against the 16-16-6 Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. Detroit is looking to do something it has not done since mid-October, and that’s win three games in a row. After beating the Capitals and Penguins, what’s stopping them tonight in Ohio? Well, the Jackets are on a bit of a heater. So let’s not take the opponent for granted.
Detroit’s last two wins have come with Alex Lyon as their starting goaltender. Tonight, Cam Talbot will get the chance to make good on what was a pretty dreadful start against the Maple Leafs in Todd McLellan’s first game as head coach. Other than goaltending, the lineup will similar to last game.
