Gonna be a late night if you’re planning to watch the Red Wings game this evening. The team is kicking off a Western swing in Edmonton to face Leon Draisaitl and his Oilers.
Vladimir Tarasenko is expected to return for Detroit tonight. JT Compher and Patrick Kane are with the team, but won’t suit up tonight. Sounds like Compher will be good to go next game.. I would expect Kane is as well. As for Jeff Petry, he’s not with the team. Been no real update on his status and at last check he hasn’t been skating. Not sure we’ll be seeing him in the lineup anytime soon.
I haven’t seen a starter named for Detroit tonight, so that’ll be sorted out during warmups.
The opponent tonight? We know ’em. Good players, fast pace but shaky goaltending and defense at times. If the Wings can stick to their game, they’ll be fine. I’m going to call it now — I predict Corey Perry is going to be jawwing at Elmer Soderblom tonight.
