The Red Wings continue the early 2024-2025 NHL regular season tonight in New York City for a tilt with the Rangers. The Ranger and Wings both played last on Saturday, with vastly different outcomes. NYR got beat in OT by Utah, while the Red Wings out-gutted the Predators in a 3-0 win.
This will be a tough matchup for Detroit, who are already a little banged up. Jeff Petry and Christian Fischer are out, and with Husso on waivers, the Wings are bringing up Austin Watson to fill in at forward. Albert Johansson and Justin Holl are expected to stay in the lineup, and Alex Lyon will make his first start of the season.
