The Red Wings are on a slide right now and are in desparate need of points. The margin is thin right now — they are technically within reach of a playoff spot, but just arm’s reach within bottom of the barrel. Dire times, indeed.
Ville Husso is getting his third-straight start tonight. Sebastian Cossa will serve as his backup. Can’t blame the coaching for this decision — Husso has been playing pretty damn well, and on an expiring contract, you never know who could be in need of a goalie later on in the season. Getting Husso’s value and confidence up would be a huge plus.
The line blender has been engaged, so don’t read into the projected lineups too much. What we really need is a win.
