The Wings are back to work on home ice this afternoon with a match-up against a struggling Minnesota Wild team. The last time Minnesota won a game was November 7th, and the Red Wings are looking to piece together a win-streak following a pair of wins over New Jersey and Boston.
A couple of things to note for today’s game: Dylan Larkin took a maintenance day at practice Saturday, and Jake Walman will be sidelined after reaggravating an injury he sustained during the trip to Sweden. Alex Lyon will get the start.
Fun fact of the day: The Minnesota Wild are 1-3-1 on the road in their last five games.

Key Matchups
Hot Wings: Both Detroit and Minnesota have starpower on the wing: Kaprizov is a proven game-changer but the Wings may have the edge as they can counter with Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat.
Blue Line Battle: Detroit will be without one of its best defenseman in Jake Walman. That means Moritz Seider will lead the Wings D against Minnesota. Expect to see more Jeff Petry and Ben Chiarot than you’re comfortable with. It will be interesting (or downright horrifying) to see how Minnesota matches up against the weaker parts of Detrtoit’s defense.
