Game Day Updates: Wings vs. Rangers

Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Wings are in the Big Apple tonight on the heels of a three-game winning streak, and it’s not going to get any easier – at least for now. Detroit is set to grapple with one of the Eastern Conference’s best teams in the New York Rangers and the good guys will be without a key piece to make matters worse.

In the meantime, the Wings skated at Madison Square Garden this morning with a new face taking the ice:

The Red Wings signed Patrick Kane to a one-year deal on Tuesday. He likely won’t be inserted into the lineup until at least next week.

Game Notes

  • Detroit is without captain Dylan Larkin tonight as he nurses a lingering injury. JT Compher will take his place on the top line.
  • Welcome back Jonatan Berggren!
  • Husso is your starter with Alex Lyon as his backup.
  • This is a back-to-back situation for Detroit. They’ll head home tomorrow and host the Chicago Blackhawks at LCA.
  • Detroit is 4-3-1 on the road so far this season. NYR is 6-2-0 on home ice.
