Today at 11am, the Griffins will welcome the media to the Van Andel Arena where they'll announce Todd Nelson as the 10th coach in franchise history. Dan DeVos (Griffins majority owner), Tim Gortesma (senior vice president of business operations) and Ryan Martin (Red Wings' assistant GM) will all be there to speak and answer questions.

The Nelson hire has been known for a few days now, as the national guys got the scoop first and the local press has followed up with their own reporting. Aside from the coaching announcement, the Griffins also say they'll have a major announcement regarding the leadership of the team's front office. I'm not sure what that means, but fortunately we'll be able to find out soon enough. We are yet to learn what's going to happen with either the Red Wings' or the Griffins' assistant coaches, so perhaps this will help clarify things.
