DETROIT, MICH -- With the impending hire of head coach Jeff Blashill slated to be announced tomorrow morning at 11AM, there was some reports of assistant coach Tony Granato electing to decline his option for the 2015-2016 season:

Shortly after, MLive's Ansar Khan reported the contrary:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Wings, assistant coach Tony Granato working on new contract after he declined option for 2015-16. Granato said he &quot;absolutely&quot; wants to stay</p>&mdash; Ansar Khan (@AnsarKhanMLive) <a href="https://twitter.com/AnsarKhanMLive/status/608032327302803456">June 8, 2015</a></blockquote>

Good chance Granato might have declined his club option so that he could leverage some more term out of the deal. This is all completely speculation, but as of right now, it seems that the future of assistant coach Tony Granato remains to be seen.
