B’s Blog: Stanley Cup of Chowder

Ah yes… my beloved Bruins are in town tonight. A much different Boston team than we’ve seen in the past, but it’s one that still seems to have Detroit’s number. Of course, that was just one game, but the matchup earlier this month wasn’t a very competitive game. Sure it was only 3-1, but it felt like it should’ve been much worse. It’s probably just me because I’m too close to the situation, but it feels like since the first round series a few years ago, the Bruins always seem to beat the Wings (I could look it up, but screw it). It sucked. It sucked big time working that night at work. I don’t want to deal with that again. I’d like to be around a bunch of sad people tonight in the office while I’m the king of the mountain. Is that too much to ask?

Yeah, probably.

Let’s be real here… Landon Ferraro puts up a hat trick and Jonas Gustavsson will build a brick wall and get the shutout. That’s pretty much the only possible outcome tonight.

Damnit.

Back to the real world… the Bruins have won three straight (granted the last two were against the Maple Leafs so I’m not sure if that actually counts?) and they’ve secured a W in four of their last five games. They’re playing some decent hockey right now. The Wings are also playing at a solid clip with a 3-0-1 record in their last four. They’ll definitely be the most rested team. Hopefully not rusty though.

The lineup should look similar to Saturday night in St. Louis. Petr Mrazek gets the nod between the pipes. We’ll update any changes after the morning skate.
