Canadiens Blog: Eyes On The Prize

After last night’s terrible loss to the Carolina Hurricanes the Wings are looking to redeem themselves. And tonight they not only face a very good hockey team, but also a division rival.

The Montreal Canadiens are coming off of a 3-0 win over the Rangers on Thursday and have started their season winning five games out of five. They are playing well and will certainly be looking to continue their current trend against the Wings tonight.

Petr Mrazek is starting for the Wings tonight, which was decided prior to last night’s game. Danny DeKeyser is back from his injury and will almost certainly play tonight, but we do not know who will sit if he does. Also, Alexei Marchenko was sent to Grand Rapids yesterday as a result of DeKeyser’s return.

This is the first meeting between the Red Wings and the Canadiens this season. Come April, the two points that are up for grabs tonight may very well factor into the Wings’ and Canadiens’ playoff equations. So there is only one thing to do: win!
