Two to go and that last one was so much fun how about we run it back. Despite being outshot against a Pittsburgh team that should be feeling the playoff pinch now, the Red Wings continued their winning ways as their top line continued its scoring ways. Two goals from Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha were enough to carry Detroit to a 4-1 victory over the Penguins in the second to last home game of the season for the Wings. Tonight they head down to Pittsburgh to take on a Penguins team that has got to be sweating just a bit more now as they sit just two points up on Carolina and three on Columbus and Montreal for third in the division / wild card spots with just two games to go.

You likely already know everything you need to about Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel and Phil Kessel still lead them offensively up front. Justin Schultz, Olli Maatta and Marcus Pettersson are leading them on the back end. Matt Murray and Casey DeSmith have played well in the net most of the season. Injuries to Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Brian Dumoulin could not have come at a worse time for them. This is a dangerous team when they are firing on all cylinders as they can fill up a next quickly, but something seems off for them right now and if they are not careful it could cost them third in the Metro (which means also avoiding either Tampa or Washington in the first round) or even a playoff spot all together if a few other games fall against them.

The Red Wings are humming along right now and there is no point in stopping it at this point. Tyler Bertuzzi, Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha are arguably the hottest line in the NHL right now and while the goals and games may not mean a lot for this season, not being able to carry that hot streak past Saturday could be all the incentive and motivation this team needs in the offseason and next season to start truly turning their potential into tangible results. LGRW!
