The Red Wings continue their road trip out west as they’re flat on a seven game losing streak. At this point we have one positive to look forward to, they’re now no.5 in best percentage odds to get the first pick! And that still leaves them with only an 8% chance. But in this streak they’ve gone ahead of Edmonton, Montreal, and Chicago (thank goodness!). Every loss counts! Don’t get ‘em boys!
Los Angeles is fighting for their playoff lives as they on the other hand are not looking to tank. But hey, maybe they’ll end up like the Philadelphia Flyers last year, barely miss the playoffs and end up with the second overall pick. The Kings have reloaded in some sense, getting off to a hot start led by youngsters Adrian Kempe and Tyler Toffoli, but as the season went on, injuries set in, and the Kings have found themselves in a cage match with rival Anahiem for the playoffs led by veterans Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown and recently a healthy Jeff Carter. They’ll be playing edgy and hungry tonight.
