Tonight is Detroit’s 90’s Night, so of course Colorado as the opponent makes perfect sense. The Wings and the Avalanche had many memorable games in the 90s, especially the night that Igor Larionov fought, which is what everyone remembers about this game.
Detroit is coming off its best performance in a while, even though they didn’t win Saturday night’s game against Ottawa. The team built a 2-0 lead, only to go down 3-2. Sam Gagner scored his first goal for the Red Wings to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Colorado currently sits in second place in the Central Division, and comes into tonight’s game as the clear favorite. There is never any love lost between these two teams, especially considering that we’re likely to see many clips from the game linked above on the scoreboard.
Just don’t let Anthony Mantha drop the gloves.
LET’S GO RED WINGS!
