Tonight we reach game number 69 on the Red Wings’ schedule. The season slogs on as we continue to look for things to at least look forward to that aren’t the fortunate fall of some bingo balls (possibly April 9th).
Detroit has competed well in their last two losses. You know, real confidence-building defeats. This will be another opportunity to perhaps bleed points while feeling good about it. I’m even going to throw in a little bit of emotional stake for this game; you know, as a treat. I really don’t like the Blackhawks and I don’t respect them. I feel badly because I know a number of Blackhawks fans who are real-life decent people, but that organization could disappear tomorrow and my world would improve.
As for the team? They’re on a four-game winning streak and trying to climb into the playoffs. Four points out of the Wild Card spot in the wide-open west, Chicago has to overtake three teams to get there and has a worse goal differential than all of them (at least until tonight, right?)
But hey, at least we can maybe get that nine-game look going soon:
Just going thru my notes/recordings....apologies for not getting this out earlier (simply forgot). Only real newsy items - still no timeline for Zadina return, and in GR, Seider could be in lineup next few days #RedWings
