We’ve known the locker room plague has been hitting players hard with offhand comments about IV fluids and Larkin being a question mark a few days ago. Yesterday, Blashill confirmed the flu outbreak is indeed severe with a handful of players in shambling zombie mode and about half the team has been showing some sort of illness symptoms. Which does explain how slow we looked against the Kings.

In any case, tonight may bring us some interesting line combinations, a lot of camera close-ups of misery, and feverish players yelling about giant owls in the rafters that won’t stop singing 90’s songs. This seems like a night where someone is going to take warm-up but end up not coming back to the bench and just going to bed. We all hope Mantha is not one of the infected.
How are the Blue Jackets doing? Depends on what day you ask. One game they’ll sweep in and dominate a good team and the next game get their hinders kicked by some loser crew. We would obviously prefer to see the latter Blue Jackets team. They come to LCA on the end of a back to back having played the Caps at home last night.
And in case you were wondering, yes Gustav Nyquist is among the point leaders on the Blue Jackets. Threatening to lead them, even.
