We’ve called a lot of games “must-win” this season, but this is it. We win tonight, or we pack it in for the golf course. We’re down, but we’re not out. We know what our issues are, they’re the same issues we’ve had for months. We need to stay out of the box and our defense needs to get their feet moving. The powerplay has somehow gotten worse, a feat I thought impossible, but we all saw those passes to nobody glide down the ice.
X-Man has been called up from Grand Rapids, it sounds like he’s here as insurance but we’ll see what happens when Blashill reveals the lineup. That defenseman you want benched will not be benched unless Blash has been replaced by a pod person, so don’t get your hopes up too high.
We have a tough job ahead of us tonight, but it’s not impossible, not by a long shot. Leave it all out on the ice men, and bring home a win to the Joe. I cannot accept that this could be the final act of The Magic Man tonight, do not make that my reality. I can’t handle it.
But keep your eyes on Pavel…just in case.
