NHL Playoffs Viewing Guide: How to Watch Saturday’s Games

Three nights of playoff excitement leads into the first weekend of the postseason. Let’s make the magic.

Minnesota Wild (7) at St. Louis Blues (2)

Wild lead series 1-0

Time: 3:00pm

Channels: NBC or NBCSN, SN, TVA2

What to watch for: David Backes will do something very stupid to hurt his team. He might even do something stupid to help his team.

Detroit Red Wings (3A) at Tampa Bay Lightning (2A)

Red Wings lead series 1-0

Time: 3:00pm

Channels: NBC or NBCSN, CBC, TVA

What to watch for: You’re on a Red Wings blog. I’m pretty sure you know what you’re watching. If you see the STL/MIN game on NBC, then switch to NBCSN. The game should be on one channel or another.

Pittsburgh Penguins(8) at New York Rangers (1)

Rangers lead series 1-0

Time: 8:00pm

Channels: CBC, NBC, TVA

What to watch for: Casual fans probably can’t name 9 of Pittsburgh’s 12 forwards, but bet your ass that a Penguins’ loss will fall on the shoulders of Crosby and Malkin, despite them playing with a bunch of Walking Dead extras.

Winnipeg Jets (8) at Anaheim Ducks (1)

Time: 10:30pm

Channels: NBCSN, TVA, SN, PRIME

What to watch for: Dirtbaggery. Lots and lots of dirtbaggery.
