Paul Holmgren had high praises for the Red Wings rookie phenom Dylan Larkin this afternoon at the USA Hockey presser that would announce Philadelphia is hosting the 2016 CCM All-American Prospects Game. The thing is, he chose his words in a very odd way:

I’ll admit, I was a bit concerned with the phrasing here at first, but then I got some context from folks who were watching. Obviously what Holmgren meant is that he’d like to play the Red Wings without Dylan Larkin because of how great of a player he is.
It’s a weird way to say it, but hey, people are weird. When I first saw the tweet I had a very “WTF” reaction. But now I get it. Thanks for the flattering comments about our rookie, I guess?
