The Wings lost their first preseason matchup against the Bruins 4-3 in overtime on Saturday and are back for a rematch tonight. Though there was no broadcast of that game, you can catch the highlights here. With the Griffins training camp getting underway today, the Wings made another round of roster cuts Saturday evening.
The Wings had Sunday off so there are no practice lines yet to indicate what lines Jeff Blashill will go with tonight, but assuming we see mostly the players who didn't play on Saturday, here's the possible lineup.
The Lineup (UPDATED AT 10:55AM WITH MORNING SKATE LINES)
Forwards
Tomas Jurco | Dylan Larkin | Tomas Tatar |
Tyler Bertuzzi | Andreas Athanasiou | Anthony Mantha |
Zach Nastasiuk | Tomas Nosek | Mitch Callahan |
Drew Miller | Joakim Andersson | Danny Cleary |
Defensemen
Niklas Kronwall | Jonathan Ericsson |
Xavier Ouellet | Alexey Marchenko |
Brian Lashoff | Nick Jensen |
Goaltenders
Jimmy Howard (starting) |
Thomas McCollum |
Zach Nastasiuk and Xavier Ouellet both make their preseason debuts tonight. Those top 3 forward lines are Ooh la la! Jurco + Larkin + Tatar?! Oh hell yes! Basically I want want want to see those top three lines in NHL action. It doesn't look like we'll be able to watch, so that really sucks big time. I love that Blashill will at least give it it a try in the preseason and see what it looks like.
