Canada tops Germany, Red Wings’ Seider for World Championship gold

Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider assisted on both of Germany’s goals and helped the country earn its first medal since 1953.

Seider secures silver in the World Championships.  I do wonder… since Veleno was suspended, does he still get a gold medal for playing (briefly) with Canada earlier in the tournament?  I suspect he does, but if anything would he a complicating factor to that I would assume it would be an incident like what Joe did.

60 Diamonds: Greatest picks from 60 NHL Drafts, Nos. 60-51

The 2023 Upper Deck NHL Draft will mark the 60th anniversary of the selection process. That’s a lot of great picks, and maybe a few not-so-great ones.

I’ll admit, I wrote this list off when I saw #60.  #52 doesn’t do a lot for lending this list legitimacy either.  But what do I know, I’m some blogger and these lists were put together by credentialed hockey writers.

Still, the other 8 names on this part of the list are all interesting entries.  It’s a fun dive thru hockey history, and if #56 is where he is then it’s going to be interesting to see how the rest of this list falls.
