Happy Monday, Red Wings fans. Hopefully you’re all staying cool during this brutal stretch of heat we’re having here in Michigan and across the US.
We don’t have any actual news to talk about, in fact, we have the exact opposite to talk about. Everyone seems to have taken a bite at what turned out to be some pretty egregious clickbait from Bob Duff. Duff had cited a report from Elliotte Friedman that Detroit was making a push for defenseman Noah Dobson, but then the report appeared to be updated stating that Friedman never actually mentioned the Red Wings specifically. Shame! SHAME!
Of course, maybe Detroit is actually pursuing Dobson? That’s a nice player that the Red Wings could benefit from greatly. As with any report nowadays, take it with a grain of salt — even if it’s from an actual NHL insider! They feed out poor information more often than we think. I try not to react to anything until the deal is done and the team has made it official.
However, Friedman did say that Justin Holl is a name to watch now that the buyout window is open. Cross your fingers.
In other news, Alex DeBrincat got to fly with the Blue Angels over the weekend. Read more about it and check out some of the photos here.
Seems crazy that the 2025 NHL Draft is this week. That means we are likely in store for a lot of action throughout the league. The Red Wing are hosting a Draft party on Friday at Hockeytown Cafe.
You may have noticed the Red Wings recently changed their profile photo on social media. The new photo hints at something coming with a “please standby” message. Very likely this will be Centennial Jersey related. Stay tuned.
That’s it for now. You WILL have a good day today. Take care.
