Red Wings outlook: Former top pick Riley Sheahan looks to build on solid two-way season as a rookie | MLive.com
This season will be Sheahan's first as a permanent Wings' player, which will hopefully lead to continued growth on his part. He has the ability to be a future #2 center for the Wings, but, he does have some competition for the role. With a healthy Weiss and Helm, in addition to Glendening's spot on the team, Sheahan will need to prove that he can be one of the Wings' best centers.

Detroit Red Wings top 10 prospects led by Anthony Mantha - NHL.com
The article lists Mantha and Ouellet as the Wings' two top prospects, which is not a surprise at all. The order of the prospects that follow is a bit more surprising. Pulkkinen was placed at #3, with Athanasiou at #4, and Sproul at #5. Personally, I would have rated Sproul ahead of both of those forwards.

Canucks confirm settlement reached with Steve Moore - CBSSports.com

Rumor Roundup: Will Blackhawks cap crunch eventually cost them Brent Seabrook? | The Hockey News
The Blackhawks need to clear $2 million from their payroll in order to be under the salary cap for this season. Chicago could move a player with a lower cap hit (Nick Leddy) to solve this season's problems, but, their cap situation is far more dire next season. This has led to a lot of speculation that Patrick Sharp may be on his way out of Chicago, however, moving Seabrook may be the better alternative. His production is more valuable to Chicago, but, the return from trading Seabrook would probably be significantly higher than what the team would receive for Sharp.
