Yikes.

After last night’s butt kicking from the Canadiens, yeah, it really does feel like the Red Wings have a very long road ahead of them. Thankfully there’s still some optimism to be found. The Wings seem have a solid foundation with Dylan Larkin & co. and some potential top end players on the horizon in Filip Zadina and Joe Veleno.

This offseason is going to determine just how long the road will actually be. Landing a top two pick in the lottery and securing Jack Hughes or Kappo Kakko could speed up the rebuild quite a bit. Plus, Steve Yzerman coming home would be another game changer.
