Lions first round draft pick T.J. Hockenson always chose the Red Wings when he played NHL video games, eh? That’s good enough for me, but time will tell if we need to change Hockeytown to Hockentown.

TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button: The Red Wings get a winger who has a game that reminds some of franchise great Pavel Datsyuk.
I don’t think I’d complain if Podkolzin fell to #6. Recently he’s been projected as high as the third most talented player in this draft. I’m sure Steve Yzerman & co. will do their homework on whether he’s going to stay over in Russia or not. With all that said, my personal preference is still Alex Turcotte.
