Two Red Wings Crack List Of NHL’s Top 50 Prospects | 97.1 The Ticket
In a list of the top 50 prospects in the NHL compiled by The Athletic, two Red Wings gained mention: Zadina and Veleno.
The ranking only considered prospects who A) came out of the draft, B) are under 23 years old and C) did not spent the majority of last season in the NHL. So, for the Red Wings purposes, players like Hronek and former first-rounders Dennis Cholowski and Michael Rasmussen were not eligible.
Notably absent from the top 50 was defenseman Moritz Seider, the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft.
It would have been cool to see Seider make this list, but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m not going to get upset about it.
With that said, I’d bet a good amount of money he’ll be listed next year.

After months of speculation, the Steve Yzerman era has begun in the Red Wings’ front office. But he’ll need to wait a little longer to truly shape this roster into a contender. The Red Wings are still shedding bad contracts and waiting for their prospect system to develop.
This is a fair.
