This is a great step in the right direction. Obviously, including the KHL teams in the competition is a must for a successful tournament. But if they can base the tournament off of the UEFA Champions League, the IIHF has an opportunity to turn this into a big event. From a KHL perspective, this is the perfect competition to rival the NHL, if it is run correctly.
