Quick Hits: Henrik Zetterberg Appreciation and Anthony Duclair on the Trade Block?

Savvy scoring leader Zetterberg still setting pace for Wings | The Detroit News

In his 14th season, at age 36, Henrik Zetterberg’s game has changed noticeably. He’s not the fastest skater on the team, and he relies on his backhand a little too much. What hasn’t changed is his leadership and the fact that he is the heart of this team. Despite age taking its toll, Zetterberg continues to find ways to lead the Red Wings. His 19 points, including 13 assists in 26 games lead the team.

“He’s not the fastest guy out there. He doesn’t have the best shot. But I think his hockey I.Q. is higher than anyone else. I think he’s just so much smarter than anyone else.”

Duclair, mentioned in trade rumors, to be a healthy scratch tonight | NBC Sports

For the first time this season Anthony Duclair is sitting out as a healthy scratch. After  breakout 2015-16 season with 20 goals and 44 points in 81 games, Duclair’s point production has taken a nosedive with 1 goal and 4 points through 23 games. There are trade rumours swirling around him and being a healthy scratch is only adding fuel to the fire.

John Chayka, the general manager, is not shopping Anthony Duclair but they’d consider it if there was a significant deal that made sense to them and brought a center back to the Arizona Coyotes.
