Quick Hits: How Many Top Players do the Red Wings Have?

Red Wings Rumblings

Somber yet positive. That’s my vibe today as a fan of the Detroit Red Wings. Somber because we are still waiting to learn more about Lucas Raymond’s health. He left the game Monday with an upper-body injury after taking a heavy hit right on the boards. Didn’t look great, but he was able to move his arm afterward FWIW. No practice yesterday, so we’ll find out more later today.

UPDATE: Lucas Raymond skated at practice. Coach says he’s out tonight and is considered day-to-day.

Positive because the Wings just took the Maple Leafs on two-game horror show (pretty cool video right here!!!). The rookies look good, Hamonic is in the cabana, and I’m almost to the point where I don’t need to mow my lawn until springtime!

Detroit will host the reigning Stanley Cup Champions tonight. The Florida Panthers have been off to a strong start, despite a loss to Philly last game. They’re without their best player in Aleksander Barkov. Gonna be a tough matchup regardless. Wings by a million.

The ESPN staff put together some predictions for the top-100 players for 2025-26 NHL regular season. Dylan Larkin is at 24, Lucas Raymond (sob) at 48, Alex DeBrincat at 59, Moritz Seider at 84, and Marco Kasper mentioned as a breakout candidate in a separate article.. Which Red Wing that isn’t mentioned here do you think could be top 100?

Elsewhere…

Saginaw Spirit fans will love to hear this — Michael Misa made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks last night. Tough loss against Carolina but still a cool milestone.
