Quick Hits: Is Jonathan Ericsson Good?
The Big Story
Goalies taking a beating in early season scoring splurge | TSN
Bob McKenzie digs into the increase in goal scoring we've seen through the first few weeks of the new hockey year. Apparently a number of coaches believe scoring is up because of all the talented rookies and young talent in the NHL. They apparently didn't get the memo that kids aren't the answer?
Regardless of the reasons, I've enjoyed the hockey I've watched thus far.
More goals, more fun.
In Red Wings Land
Red Wings’ Ericsson thrives with tougher attitude | The Detroit News
We're only six games into this season, but 3rd pair defenseman Jonathan Ericsson has been a nice surprise. The big Swedish d-man was the topic of conversation for all the Diggers today. He has a new attitude. He has a chip on his shoulder. I'm cool with him believing or saying whatever he wants as long as he continues to make a positive impact on this team.
Maybe it was Niklas Kronwall and his bum knee that was dragging Ericsson down all along?
Let's Go Red Wings.
