Quick Hits: McDavid vs. Matthews II, Eichel Returns & Mantha Slaps Again

Video: Yes, Connor McDavid scored another ridiculous goal | NBC Sports

All of the NHL's young stars were shining bright last night. We had the 2nd match up between the last two 1st overall picks, Connor McDavid versus Auston Matthews. Both players scored for their respective teams. The Maple Leafs, however, took home the 4-2 victory.

From Edmonton to Ottawa, the Sabres were visiting the Senators in a game that saw the season debut of Jack Eichel. The former 2nd overall pick hadn't played all season due to an ankle injury. Eichel, of course, scored his first goal of the season.

Add in goals from Patrik Laine, Max Domi and our very own Dylan Larkin and it was a good night to be a young star in the NHL.

Speaking of talented, young hockey players... Anthony Mantha scored again. That now gives him three goals in eight games this season. The former "disappointment" seems to have found his place in the lineup skating alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Tatar. The big winger looks like an NHL player out there and his confidence is growing. It appears that Thanksgiving was more like Slapsgiving for Mantha and he's done exactly what his head coach has asked for. I look forward to watching his development continue as the season progresses.

Let's Go Red Wings.
