Quick Hits: Red Wings Add Marek Zidlicky

Red Wings News

Red Wings acquire defenseman Marek Zidlicky from New Jersey for conditional draft pick; done dealing | MLive.com
I love this move. Zidlicky is not as good of a hockey player as Dion Phaneuf, but he is not bad, and considering the price that we paid for him, it was a great move by Ken Holland. In return for Zidlicky, we sent New Jersey a conditional third-round pick.

Helm and Marchenko will not be out for an extended time period, which is good. Henrik Zetterberg may be able to play on Wednesday against the Rangers.

Trade: Montreal acquires Petry from Edmonton for two draft picks | ProHockeyTalk
Jeff Petry ended up in Montreal, and the price that the Habs paid for him was not too bad. A second-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick were sent Edmonton’s way in return for Petry. The Wings could have made that move and I would have been more than pleased.
