Luke Glendening appears to be an already favorite of Jeff Blashill, and with good reason. Glendening thinks the Red Wings will get the same type of coach out off Blashill as they did with Mike Babcock.

D Mike Green is a valuable addition, and F Brad Richards adds versatility. But the loss of Mike Babcock, arguably the best coach in the NHL, balances out the acquisitions. Losing Pavel Datsyuk (ankle) early doesn’t help, either.
While I admit losing Datsyuk (for however long), and Babcock is a hit, I think it’s a stretch to consider them the same team.
