Red Wings News

With NHL trade deadline looming, Wings GM Holland likes his options | FOX Sports
While the Wings would like to add a player, there is not a pressing need to make a trade this season like there was last year. Having that flexibility can be nice. That said, having Oliver Ekman-Larsson on this team would be wonderful.

5 things to watch: Strong month vaults Red Wings near top of East, despite penalty kill issues | MLive.com
The Wings currently sit in an interesting and risky spot. We are right near the top of the East and currently have a very comfortable grip on a playoff spot. The Wings have to make sure that they do not become too passive and slip out of the position of having home-ice advantage in the playoffs.

Things have never looked this bleak for Maple Leafs – Sportsnet.ca
I would not go that far. The Leafs do have some very good young players, and if they add a competent coach and GM to the mix, they should be contending for a playoff spot again. It could be worse, you could be the Oilers.

Trade Talk: Flames unwilling to risk future for playoff push | TSN
The Flames have set themselves up to be a playoff contending team for the next couple of seasons. There is no need to risk losing that potential in order to push for a playoff spot this season in a very strong Western Conference.
