31 Thoughts: Penguins’ big decisions include what to do with Malkin | Sportsnet
There are some thoughts from Elliotte Friedman about Ken Holland’s status and whether he’s interested in the Oilers’ GM, but this is what caught my eye...
5. Prior to Steve Yzerman’s hiring in Detroit, Holland discussed a return for Pavel Datsyuk. Not sure if the odds would be very high, but Datsyuk was — at least — considering it. He is scheduled to return to Michigan in May, so we’ll see if this goes anywhere.
Interesting.
I’m probably in the minority here, but I’d welcome Datsyuk back. He didn’t leave on the best terms with Wings’ fans and a lot of people are still sour with how everything went down, so why not let him come back for a year and make amends? Give him a one year deal and let him work with the young players. Put him on a line with Filip Zadina and let them go to work.
Anthony Mantha — Dylan Larkin — Tyler Bertuzzi
Pavel Datsyuk — Andreas Athanasiou — Filip Zadina
