Quick Hits: The 2014 Re-Draft Edition
In Red Wings Land
This article is filled with interesting details, but this was pretty incredible to me.
During the game, players who scored against Giacomin apologized for doing so. Giacomin recalled that Rangers defenseman Brad Park, who was traded to Boston five days later, would circle back to his own blue line when he got the puck, apparently uncomfortable attacking his former teammate.

Backdraft 2014: Redoing the top 10 picks from the '14 NHL draft - TheHockeyNews
While Brayden Point is the big steal of the 2014 draft considering where he was selected, Dylan Larkin is way up there with the best picks, and the Wings got him at 15. Definitely one of the best drafts for Detroit in recent memory.
All-out offense: While Ekblad went first overall, the 2014 draft will likely be remembered for its forwards. Draisaitl and Pastrnak are the headliners, with Point, Larkin, Nylander, Ehlers, Arvidsson and Reinhart making the updated top 10 as bona fide first-liners. (Arvidsson, it should be noted, ranks up there with Point as another big steal in the 2014 draft after being picked 112th overall by Nashville.)
Unique NHL playoff format looking more likely
First off, I know, I know, Yahoo Sports. But I am mainly posting this article to start a discussion on possible playoff formats IF the playoffs even happen:
We did discuss this on the latest episode of Fer Sure. Jay had the most out there idea of everyone, which should come as no surprise.
Outside of hockey stuff, I just want to say I hope everyone in our community is safe and healthy. Here in NJ, it’s starting to get really bad, and it’s incredibly stressful. I hope you are managing to get through this incredibly difficult time.
