Red Wings Rumblings
After the win against Toronto, the Red Wings announced that goaltender Jack Campbell was reassigned to Grand Rapids:
This is good news, obviously. It means that Alex Lyon will likely be ready to go Wednesday night against Philadelphia. The Griffins have moved Carter Gylander down to Toledo in a corresponding move.
Meanwhile, Jonatan Berggren was fined $2,148.44 (the maximum under the CBA) for his cross-check on Connor Dewar Saturday night. You can view the hit here.
The Griffins picked up their first-ever win at Colorado’s Blue Arena Saturday. Sebastian Cossa earned the win and Nate Danielson scored the shootout winner. It was a Teddy Bear Toss game as well, so that’s always fun! Some highlights can be found here.
NHL News
Every NHL team will apparently get “quarter-century” teams to acknowledge the talent across the league.
“Each Club’s First and Second Quarter-Century Teams will be selected by a panel of media, retired players and executives specific to that Club,” they wrote. “Players under consideration for selection are those who have appeared in a game for the respective franchises since Jan. 1, 2000.”
