Coulda, shoulda, woulda from Connor Earegood at The Hockey News. It’s a what-about-ism article that examines some of the trades Steve Yzerman has made, and how it affects the rebuild. I used to do stuff like this all the time, but at this point in my fandom, there’s always something to look back at and reflect on if it were the right call or not. This happens to at least one or two teams in every draft. What if Detroit drafted Quinn Hughes instead of Filip Zadina? Robert Thomas or Jake Oettinger over Michael Rasmussen? The list goes on. It’s whatever in my view.
Other major news from over the weekend — Nate Danielson is with Grand Rapids after the Portland Winterhawks lost the WHL Championship round. Grand Rapids plays game two in the Central Division Finals tomorrow night. Good chance we see Danielson suit up for the Griffins.
