In Red Wings Land

Red Wings need pair of defensemen in free agency - Mlive

I’ll be honest that a bunch of these names frighten me more than excite me because I think the majority, if not all of them are looking at longer-term deals that should pay hefty and this is a tricky time to consider signing those kinds of deals.

8. Justin Schultz, Pittsburgh

GP: 46 G: 3 A: 9 PT: 12

Age/shot: 29/right

2019-20 cap hit: $5.5 million

His production has declined sharply from his first full season with the Penguins (12 goals, 51 points in 2016-17). He played top-four minutes and posted a team-worst minus-13 rating.

This one scares me the most.

I do like that not everybody gets a blurb, but Khan in his commitment to listing everybody possibly available has guys like Jay Bouwmeester listed.  I also hear that Mike Green fella from Edmonton might be unsigned come July?

NHL 20 Stanley Cup Playoffs simulation: Flames win first Cup since 1989 as Bruins fall short again - CBS Sports

Hey, it’s no more or less masturbatory than draft lottery simulations and seeing Canada finally win another cup wouldn’t bother me as much as the idea of Boston winning one. This would be especially ok because it would be the Bruins losing back-to-back years.

Some quick takeaways before we get into the full breakdown:

Leafs knocked out in the first round... again: Even EA knows how this is supposed to work. Toronto is out after round one, despite the fact that they were able to avoid a first-round matchup against Boston this time around. Might there need be some drastic shake-ups coming down after this latest postseason disappointment from the Leafs?

The simulation also has Colorado dipping out in the first. All things considered I’m ok giving this daydream my official seal of approval.
