Red Wings Rumblings
I should be more pissed off that the Red Wings squandered what should have been a point last night in Ottawa. Yes, officiating was godawful, but to lose it with some 40 seconds left in the game pushes me into a state of numb that I haven’t felt since the 2020-2021 season. And it shouldn’t be that way!!!
This team has more than enough talent to be better than what their record shows. I’m a broken record at this point. Patrick Kane is a shell of himself. The coaching is absolutely lost. You have several liabilities on defense and are clearly content with that. It’s just sad. Something has to happen. Or maybe not. Whatever. The truth is that it’s early December and fans are already starting to do their draft research.
We’ve covered this, but Dmytri Buchelnikov appears to be a budding star a la Kirill Kaprizov. Can we fast track this guy to the NHL?
In other news overseas, Axel Sandin Pellikka and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard are lighting it up in the SHL. It’s at least comforting to know that the prospect cupboard is well-stocked. Just a matter of getting rid of deadweight and getting these young stars acclimated to pro hockey in North America.

Blackhawks Make a Coaching Change
Another one bites the dust. Not to say Chicago and Detroit are in similar situations, but teams are moving on from coaches for underperforming this season. Hint hint, Steve.
At this rate, it’s just a matter of time before Montreal passes Detroit in the standings and we’re left in the basement of the Atlantic Division.
Sorry I don’t have anything nice or positive to say (at least the Lions won?). Happy Friday.
